As part of the First Fridays Gallery Walk in Raleigh, I showed two of my watercolor pieces in the Just Art: Redeeming the Discarded exhibit at Cobblestone Hall.
As part of the show, each artist was asked to contribute a work to a silent auction to help raise money for the Salvation Army. In keeping with the theme of the discarded, I picked up an old painting at the Durham Rescue Mission for $5 and painted over it to create this guy. I think my favorite part of the night was overhearing all of the comments from potential bidders, which mostly involved the word ‘creepy.’
